FreeScout started in 2018 when developer Pavel Kulbakin built an open alternative after Help Scout restricted its free tier. Structured on Laravel to replicate a clean shared mailbox, it avoids robotic ticket numbers and keeps customer communication personal. Today that architecture gives growing teams data sovereignty over customer email without per-user subscription fees.
Why FreeScout instead of Help Scout
Help Scout provides a turnkey SaaS ecosystem where connectors to Slack, HubSpot, Jira, and Shopify activate directly through a central directory.
